Platform Agent Certification
also known as Agentblazer, Azure AI agent cert, Google ADK cert, vendor agent credential
A vendor-issued credential (Salesforce, Microsoft, Google) that certifies a builder can design, configure, and deploy agents on that platform, providing a measurable threshold and a recognised signal for employers.
How the learner advances
Intent. Certify that a builder can design, configure, and deploy agents on a specific vendor platform, creating a credential that is meaningful to employers and clients who use that platform.
When to apply. Use this move when a builder works primarily within a single vendor ecosystem (Salesforce, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) and needs a formal, employer-recognised signal of platform-level competence. It is the right choice when the organisation has standardised on a vendor platform and agent builders need a common, auditable skill baseline. It is the wrong choice as the sole training path — vendor certification certifies platform configuration, not agent design thinking.
Threshold — earns the next step. The builder passes the vendor assessment gate and earns the named digital credential: Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist, Microsoft AI-3026 path completion, or Google ADK Technical Expert Badge.
Masterpiece — the artifact that proves it. A working agent deployed on the vendor platform that uses at least two platform-specific capabilities — demonstrated during the capstone or exam lab — earning the vendor-issued digital credential.

Inputs
- Builder working in a vendor ecosystem — A practitioner who uses or is expected to use the vendor's agent tooling in their role — Salesforce Agentforce, Azure Foundry Agent Service, or Google ADK and Vertex AI Agent Builder.
- Vendor learning path — The structured self-paced materials on the vendor's learning platform: Salesforce Trailhead Agentblazer path, Microsoft Learn AI-3026 modules, or Google Skills Agentic AI path.
- Vendor agent-builder tooling access — A sandbox or developer account on the platform so the builder can complete hands-on labs rather than only watch demonstrations.
Outputs
- A more capable learner — A builder who can configure, deploy, and monitor agents within the specific vendor platform — including the platform's tool integration model, agent orchestration primitives, and deployment pipeline.
- Masterpiece: a working vendor-platform agent — An agent deployed on the vendor platform that demonstrates the capabilities tested in the certification: tool calling, orchestration, multi-agent coordination (where applicable), and monitoring.
- Vendor-issued digital credential — A named certification badge (Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist, Microsoft AI-3026 completion, Google ADK Technical Expert Badge) that can be shared on professional profiles and is recognised by employers using that platform.
Steps (3)
Complete the vendor learning path
Work through the structured modules on the vendor learning platform. Each module covers a specific capability: agent configuration, tool definition, orchestration, memory, guardrails, and deployment. Complete all hands-on labs in the vendor sandbox — skip no labs, as the exam or capstone tests lab-level knowledge.
Build a platform-native agent
Design and deploy an agent using the vendor's native tooling — not a framework wrapper. For Salesforce this means Agentforce configuration in the Agent Builder UI and Flow. For Microsoft this means Foundry Agent Service with MCP tool definitions. For Google this means ADK agent code deployed on Vertex AI. The agent must use at least two platform-specific capabilities not available in framework-neutral code.
Pass the assessment gate
Complete the vendor's assessment: a proctored exam (Salesforce), a learning-path completion check (Microsoft), or a capstone project submission (Google Skills). Earn the digital badge. The badge is the threshold; the agent built in step two is the masterpiece.
Principles
- Platform depth complements pattern breadth — a vendor cert is most valuable when the builder already understands agent design patterns independent of the platform.
- Labs before lectures — the exam tests what you can configure, not what you can describe; skip no hands-on exercises.
- The credential is a signal to employers, not proof of agent design skill — treat it as a floor, not a ceiling.
Unlocks methodologies (2)
A learner who completes this pattern is equipped to execute these methodology families:
Known uses (3)
Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist — Salesforce
salesforce Formerly AI Specialist; free first attempt until Dec 2025; requires Agentblazer Trailhead path
Develop AI Agents on Azure (AI-3026) — Microsoft
microsoft 9-module learning path; covers Foundry Agent Service, custom tools, MCP, multi-agent orchestration, A2A protocol; free on Microsoft Learn
Agentic AI on Google Cloud — Google
google 9 activities; covers Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (ex-Vertex AI), ADK, multi-agent security; technical expert badge
Known failure modes (2)
- [certification-without-design-literacy]
The anti-pattern of completing a platform certification without understanding the underlying agent design patterns. A builder who can configure Agentforce but cannot explain why a reflection loop or a planning pattern would or would not suit their use case cannot adapt when the platform changes its UI or when the requirement does not fit the vendor's agent model.
- [vendor-lock-in-by-training]
The anti-pattern of making the platform certification the organisation's only agent training, producing builders who cannot work outside the vendor's tooling. When the vendor changes its architecture, the team's skills are stranded.
